Born and raised in North Town Las Vegas, Phoenyx B. is a Licensed Master Social Worker, advocate, community leader, and founder of Let's Play Advocacy Group. Her commitment to service is rooted in both professional experience and a deeply personal understanding of the challenges many individuals and families face every day.
Phoenyx earned bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology and a Master of Social Work degree, building a strong academic foundation in human behavior, social systems, advocacy, and community change. Throughout her education and professional career, she developed a passion for addressing the barriers that prevent individuals and families from reaching their full potential.
As a social worker, Phoenyx has worked across behavioral health, criminal justice, education, housing, and community service systems, supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges, justice system involvement, housing instability, substance use disorders, and other barriers to success. Through her professional work, she has witnessed firsthand the gaps that often leave vulnerable individuals and families without the support they need.
However, her passion for advocacy extends far beyond her career.
As a mother, survivor, family member, and lifelong community advocate, Phoenyx has personally navigated many of the same systems that the individuals served by Let's Play Advocacy Group encounter every day. She understands the frustration of trying to access resources, the challenges of advocating for loved ones, and the impact that poverty, trauma, violence, behavioral health concerns, and justice system involvement can have on individuals and families.
These experiences have given her a unique perspective and a profound sense of purpose. Rather than allowing adversity to define her future, Phoenyx transformed her experiences into a mission to help others overcome barriers, access opportunities, and achieve lasting stability.
She founded Let's Play Advocacy Group in 2024 with a vision, inspired by her lived experiences and a promise to her nephew, of putting the care of the community back into the hands of the community. Her goal is to create pathways to success for veterans, justice-involved individuals, survivors of violence and trafficking, individuals experiencing homelessness, people facing behavioral health challenges, and other underserved populations throughout Southern Nevada.
Believing that meaningful change requires both direct service and systemic reform, Phoenyx continues to expand her knowledge and advocacy efforts to better serve her community. Currently studying in the Doctor of Public Policy (DPP) program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, she remains focused on developing innovative, community-driven solutions that address the root causes of social challenges while creating lasting opportunities for future generations.
Phoenyx believes that meaningful change happens when professional expertise is combined with compassion, lived experience, community collaboration, and innovative solutions. Her leadership philosophy embraces both traditional and nontraditional approaches to advocacy, ensuring that individuals are met where they are and supported on their journey toward independence and success.
Today, she continues to work alongside community partners, public agencies, service providers, educators, advocates, and community leaders to build stronger, healthier, and more self-sustaining communities throughout Southern Nevada.
"I wasn't supposed to make it this far. That's exactly why I am committed to helping others realize that they can."
